I really like the frame selection ( nice large aviator available) at 39DG but their $25 charge for AR coating is a deal breaker. I want AR on all my glasses but I really balk at paying that much for it.

Agree it's a bit steep compared to some of the other places, but from personal experience it holds up great.
You could look at this sale as a "glass half-full" situation with essentially $5 AR. ;-) - At July 17, 2009 at 2:15 PM Unknown said...

Is 39 dollar glasses having problems with their website. I keep entering my frame choice and prescription and when I click "STEP 3" if brings me back to HOME page and there is no record of anything I have entered!!!! Frustrating!

Yes, I thought about that for a bit ($20 as discount on AR coating)but wasn't convinced.
I have some progressives coming from Zenni next week. $46 shipped with AR. ;-) Will let you know how they turn out as soon as they get here.

Incredible! I mentioned on the forum a while ago that 39DG's discount through this site didn't seem to apply with their Re-lensing service. IIRC Ira mentioned that was true but they were working on fixing it. With this good of a deal I decided to check again and it seems they've changed the way they take Re-lensing requests so that even this "Blowout" sale should work!
I don't have the time at this moment to finish my order but I'm ecstatic. This is the best deal I've seen for this kind of service.
Now my only question is whether to go with the CR-39 or Polycarbonate Photochromatics.. - At July 18, 2009 at 8:11 PM Ken said...
