Oops! According to a couple of people, it's not working. Odd. Very odd.

The guys at EyeBuyDirect sent me an email earlier today extending the sale through Monday.

See this post for all the particulars.

Nice, and they don't need to send in the junior developer to turn it off on the weekend. ;-)

We all win.

Sorry everyone!

I tried to order from them today using the code but it said "This coupon has expired".

Yup, looks like the coupon has expired and it is NOT good through Monday as stated in the post. Please correct.

I've had great luck with them. I'd use them again. Just made a mistake in the timing of the promo.

They'll make good with it.

I've had good results with EBD but as of late they haven't had any large frames that will fit me for under ~$50 so I've switched to LBW Eyewear as they have discounted large frames in stainless steel.

I placed an order with them yesterday after viewing the post that the sale was extended but before I saw Ira's update to say that the code wasn't working. I'd seen that only the 15% discount was applied, but went ahead and ordered (it was still a good deal!), figuring I'd contact them afterwards to see what they'd say about the sale extension. I used their customer service area on the site and will let you know how they respond.

OK, as promised, I'm updating my above comment! I heard from them earlier this afternoon, and they are applying the full 30% off discount to my order. So, I'm quite happy with their customer service thus far! Ira, you were right -- they did make good on it.

Now I just have to somehow be patient until my new glasses (3 pairs!) arrive -- I can't wait.

The fact that these online discount glasses retailers even offer a discount is pretty darn cool.

Last year the optical "boutique" I have been going to for well over a decade sent me a postcard saying they were going to give me a 5% to reward me for my loyalty. Gee, thanks.

I spent $500 to $900 there each time. I buy high end frames, but they really get me on the lenses, almost always recommending the highest index possible, even though my prescription doesn't warrant it. Well, I am wising up! I just ordered some sunglasses to try out from Zenni. It's been three weeks and I don't have them yet, but it will be interesting to compare them to the more expensive ones I have.

By the way, does anyone know of discount online retailers that offer tinted edging? I have pairs of glasses with and without the tinting and I do find that I like how the tinted edges prevent the white line you usually see inside the frames, even when the edges are "polished".

Great site! So glad I found it!

Ok, big ups from me for Eyebuydirect.com. I ordered a pair of titanium frames on 4/15/09. My prescription is pretty basic, and I didn't get any super bells or whistles (just anti-scratch, anti-reflective and UV coatings). I received my new specs yesterday (4/22/09), and I LOVE them. In and out the door in 1 week, for $38 after the 30% discount. Eyebuydirect FTW!

I'm not sure if anyone is still reading the comments on this post, but I wanted to give the final update on my order. My glasses came today, and all three pairs are absolutely perfect. They fit exactly how they are supposed to, the AR coating is flawless, and they all look great! Not only that, my card was indeed refunded the extra 15% for the 30% off sale, so life is good. :) I got three pairs of glasses for about 1/3 of what just one pair has cost me in the past from B&M stores.

I'm extremely happy with them and would definitely order from them again.
