ReplyDeleteHere's the message I sent to them this evening.

Well, I was going to buy two pairs of glasses from your site tonight. But your coupon code "Saleday4" appears to only give $19.95 off the price of two pairs, instead of the advertised Buy one Get one free deal. This is simply unacceptable.
So I thought I'd try the coupon code you sent me for 15% off is not working either. Cart sub-total is $190.60. 15% would be $28.59. Your system is giving me $6.75 instead. That's 3.5%. So the fall-back deal is also unacceptable.
I ask that you honor your BOGO deal and throw in free UPS Express shipping for the hassle. You can find my shopping cart via my email address.
Oh, and your direct link for EyeBuyDirect.com for 15% off with code "gleyes09" is also broken. It's giving me $15.15 off a cart of $190.60. That.s 7.95%.
ReplyDeleteOk, I figured out the way the coupon works. They're treating a pair of glasses as frame-only. Just like the brick and mortar stores - they're nickel-and-diming us to death.
ReplyDeleteI've found many of these deals are base pair of glasses, i.e. frame with basic lenses. If you buy your second pair without any options(coatings, tint, higher index lenses), it will be free. If you buy any of that stuff, you will be charged for it, just not the basic price of the glasses. Still not a bad deal when you think about it.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, EyeBuyDiredt is offering a different sale every day for the next 10 days. Today they are offering free lense upgrades. Who knows what else they'll offer, so keep checking back.
